Parmalee Rocks the Opry

Photo by the Grand Ole Opry

Parmalee made its Grand Ole Opry debut Friday night, March 1st, with an amazing two-song set that had the Opry crowd cheering these Nashville newcomers.  Family and friends came out to witness this historic moment in Parmalee's professional life and those who couldn't be there in person shared the experience on Facebook and Twitter while listening in live on WSM.  The entire show is archived and you can listen by clicking here.

Before they went on, the band tweeted pictures from backstage and a brief message to the fans:

Then it was time to take the stage.  Steve Wariner introduced them to the Opry audience and Parmalee opened with "Already Calling You Mine."  Matt said a few words, mentioning that both of his grandmas were in the house, before launching into their new single "Carolina."

Here are some photos of the band with some of the family in attendance.

Parmalee's Opry debut was a huge success.  The sold-out crowd really loved them and gave them a fantastic reception.  Despite the butterflies, they all sounded amazing.  Hope it's not too long before a repeat performance on the Opry stage!

Parmalee to Make Their Grand Ole Opry Debut

This Friday night, Matt Thomas, Barry Knox, Josh McSwain and Scott Thomas, the country-rock foursome known as Parmalee, will set foot for their first time on the fabled circle of the Grand Ole Opry. Though first announced onstage by Matt during the North Carolina stop of their current Country Gone Wild Tour, the official announcement was not made until today.

According to their label, Stoney Creek Records:
Parmalee is set to make its debut on the legendary Grand Ole Opry, The Show That Made Country Music Famous, this Friday night, March 1st at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN.

Parmalee will perform on the renowned stage with a bill that includes Opry members Blake Shelton, Josh Turner, Steve Wariner, Montgomery Gentry and more at 7 p.m. that evening. Tickets to the show are available at Opry.com and 615-871-OPRY.

Hailing from North Carolina, Parmalee has been influenced by many of the musical heavyweights who have graced the Opry stage throughout the years. Now, it is finally the band’s turn to cross a Grand Ole Opry debut off its bucket list.
“We are completely blown away!” said Matt Thomas, “What an honor to be invited into the ‘Circle’. This is definitely a lifetime achievement for all us.”
“My first thought when I heard we were playing the Grand Ole Opry was, ‘My family is gonna be so proud!’” said Barry Knox.
Tickets are still available to see the band's Opry debut, click here to purchase. If you cannot make the show in person, you can listen live on WSM here beginning at 7:00 pm CST.

Video and Photos from Part 2 of the Country Gone Wild Tour

A few fans managed to hit all three shows and, despite the combination of euphoria and exhaustion, have been posting photos and videos from the shows which we are happy to share with you here.  It's not too late to catch the Country Gone Wild Tour, as it continues Saturday night March 2nd at Phase 2 in Lynchburg, VA, then concludes with two shows March 15th at Joe's on Weed Street in Chicago and March 16th at The Rave in Milwaukee.  Find out more and get your tickets here.
